Buffeslfontein residents very happy with their Christmas hampers from Annemarie Craven. Annemarie Craven and her family have provided 100 Christmas hampers every year for the past 4 years.
1. Christmas is fast approaching and there are many of our lone sub economic elderly beneficiaries who survive on a state pension of R1114 facing a lonely festive season. Christmas is just not what it used to be when they were young. When the whole family got together and friends remembered them.
2. Sure there are 390 older persons at Buffelsfontein Village and 64 at Cuylerholme Rooms. Not forgetting the 90 older persons from Silver Stars that incoporates Sameach, Busy Hands and Young at Heart. Seems like a lot of people to assist? So why not pick one group to help? This is how you do it.
3. Start right now, that is today 14 September 2011....... and get all your friends, your church, your gym or your hairdresser to help. Phone Alta on Tel 041 368-8434 for a poster that will request assistance from these good folk. Then ask for permission and put the poster up in the places mentioned above. The poster will request that they start collecting small items such as:
Tinned goods, sweets, soap, toothpaste, deodorants, small packets of washing powder, liquifruit, cup-of-soup, two minute noodles, cereals, chocolate, long life milk, coffee, tea. sugar.... in fact all things non perishable. Cut off date for collections are 30th of November 2011.
4. Then get the kids, family and friends to pitch in and help to make up as many parcels as you need. This of course depending on how many older persons you wish to assist. You can select the group you want to help from the information provided above in paragraph 2. Remembering that the amount of older persons in your group depends entirely on how enthusiastic you are.
5. When all the parcels are made up contact Alta on tel: 041 368 8434 or 076 531 6749 and arrangements will be made for you to come and play Father Christmas at either Buffelsfontein, Cuylerholme Rooms or Silver Stars.
Now that's what we call the Real Meaning of Christmas !
